And in a guarded corner of his mind,
Patrolled by painful memories,
Pandora’s Box lies wrapped in barbed wire anger.

To open the lid,
Could unleash the Demons.
So he defends and distracts,
Cowers and attacks.

A victim of fear.
Paralysed by shadows.
Hiding his vulnerability,
Behind a paper-thin mask.

But if he could only find the courage,
To take a peek inside,
Perhaps his monsters would be cobwebs,
And he could smash the box to pieces.
